DIY Guide: Mercedes Benz Keyless Go Guide

Quick Guide:
"Keyless Go" (Mercedes equipment code 889) is an optional feature found in some Mercedes-Benz vehicles. It refers to a keyless entry and ignition system. With Keyless Go, you can lock, unlock, and start your car without physically using a key. Instead, the system relies on a key fob that communicates with the car's sensors.

Here's how Keyless Go typically works:

Key Fob:

The driver carries a key fob, usually in their pocket or purse, which contains a wireless transmitter.

Proximity Sensors:

The car is equipped with proximity sensors that detect when the key fob is within a certain range.

Locking and Unlocking:

As the driver approaches the vehicle, the system detects the key fob and allows the doors to be unlocked simply by touching the door handle, provided the key fob is within the designated range. Similarly, the doors can be locked by touching a specific area on the door handle.

Push-Button Start:

Once inside the car, the driver can start the engine by pressing a button on the dashboard. This eliminates the need to insert a physical key into the ignition.

The convenience of Keyless Go enhances the overall user experience by providing a seamless and hands-free approach to accessing and starting the vehicle. It's a common feature in many modern luxury vehicles, including various models from Mercedes-Benz.
