Shipping Insurance Policy
Our optional shipping insurance protects the products and modules covered by your order against loss or damage during shipping. For send-in services, coverage applies in both directions: from you to Benz Tech Modules LLC and from us back to you. For products purchased from us, coverage applies to the shipment from us to you.
The insurance price is shown with the option on the product page. Select and purchase the option with your order to add this coverage.
What we cover
If a covered product or module is lost or damaged during transit, Benz Tech Modules LLC will replace it at no additional cost, including programming to your Mercedes where applicable. Coverage also includes loss, theft, or damage while your covered items are in our care after we receive them.
Proper packaging is required
You are responsible for securely packaging every item you send to us. Use a sturdy box suitable for the item’s weight, wrap and cushion each item individually, protect connectors and other fragile parts, and fill empty space so the contents cannot move around or strike each other during normal shipping and handling. Seal the box securely.
Damage caused by insufficient or improper packaging is not covered. Examples include an item placed loose in a box, inadequate cushioning, unprotected connectors, or multiple parts packed so they can hit each other. Selecting shipping insurance does not remove your responsibility to package your items properly.
After delivery to you
Coverage does not extend to loss, theft, or damage that occurs after the courier delivers the package to your address. Proof of delivery may include delivery confirmation, signature confirmation, or other courier documentation. Damage that occurred during transit remains covered, subject to the packaging requirement above.
If your shipment is lost or arrives damaged
Contact us with your order number, tracking information, and a description of the issue. For damage, please keep the box, packing materials, and damaged items, and take photos so we can review what happened.
To program a replacement security-related module, we may need another module from your vehicle that contains the necessary security data. For example, if an EIS and keys are lost, we may ask you to send your ECM so we can extract the security data and program a replacement EIS and keys.
