Description
Mercedes DAS 2b RFL cloning service
Our mail-in bench service recovers the original immobilizer/security data from your RFL module, when readable, and transfers it into a compatible donor. The aim is to preserve the vehicle’s existing key and ME engine-management pairing while replacing the suspect RFL hardware.
The base service price is $650 for cloning/programming. A donor module is not included. This is a service for your supplied components, not a standalone replacement module.
Module compatibility and service requirements
- Mercedes part number: 129 820 37 26 (1298203726).
- Siemens: 5WK4680 (5WK4 680).
- Frequency: 315 MHz.
- Application: late W140 S-Class / R129 SL-Class vehicles equipped with the corresponding DAS 2b RFL system.
Match the module label and system before ordering. Chassis or model year alone does not establish compatibility. If your part number or frequency differs, contact us before purchasing or shipping.
What to send
- Your original RFL module, including the unit reporting the internal fault.
- One existing key from the same vehicle.
- A compatible donor RFL module, unless donor sourcing has been arranged with us separately.
- Your order number, contact details, vehicle year/model and a brief description of the reported fault.
Pack the modules and key securely, identify which module is the original and which is the donor, and follow the shipping instructions supplied with your order.
Matching donor — quoted separately
We prefer a donor with the same 129 820 37 26 / Siemens 5WK4680 / 315 MHz identification. Do not assume a different RFL unit will work because the connector or housing looks similar. You may supply a matching donor, or contact us for help sourcing one. Any donor we supply is quoted separately and is additional to the $650 service price.
How the mail-in service works
- Confirm the application and donor. Check the original module label and contact us if compatibility or donor availability is uncertain.
- Send the required components. Mail the original RFL, one existing key and the matching donor, or arrange donor sourcing with us first.
- We assess source-data readability. An original module reporting an internal fault must first be read to determine whether its security data can be recovered.
- We clone recoverable data. When the original data is readable and suitable for transfer, we program it into the compatible donor to retain the existing key/ME pairing.
- Return and installation. The programmed donor is returned for installation and verification in the vehicle by you or your technician.
Important: damaged or unreadable source data
Data recovery and successful cloning are not guaranteed. If the original MCU cannot be read, or the immobilizer/security data is damaged, incomplete or unusable, this cloning service may not be possible. An internal-fault report does not by itself confirm recoverability. We must evaluate the original module before confirming that the data can be transferred.
This is a mail-in bench programming service, not vehicle diagnosis, on-vehicle testing or mechanical repair. Cloning does not correct unrelated key, wiring, power-supply, engine-management or other vehicle faults, and it does not guarantee that every no-start condition will be resolved. Have the vehicle fault diagnosed before ordering.
